What Are Logic Puzzles Good For?

logic puzzles on computerHave you ever used logic puzzles in your classroom?

If you haven’t given them a try, you’re missing out! Using these during math block can help students develop their logical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills. Besides growing those brain skills, logic puzzles are also FUN!!

Logic puzzles have become a BIG lifesaver in my classroom year round…when I’m virtual, hybrid, and in-person!

Why??

Because these can be assigned digitally or printed out for students to complete. What’s more, they’re no-prep for you (yay!!) and kids love them. When I’m teaching virtually, I can assign these on Google Classroom in a matter of seconds. Students can easily drag and drop the numbers to figure out the solution while also building their critical thinking skills. Or, if I’m in person, I constantly have students finishing early. These are easy to slip into a drawer, and have students pull out as they complete their work. The colorful graphics puzzle-format makes students excited to complete math tasks!

Furthermore, engaging children with logical puzzles allows them to develop new strategies for solving problems and challenges them to think outside the box. These especially come in handy when I need enrichment activities. Not having to worry about coming up with a new activity each time students finish early has been such a stress-reliever for me.

And finally, the best part? They can be used every month of the year! From winter to summer, there are logic puzzles for every season of the year.
