I’ve created 40 reading classroom transformations, and every one aligns with the upper elementary reading standards. It took a lot of time and planning to build them all, but now that they’re finished, they’ve completely changed the way my students experience reading. Instead of dreading the start of the week, my kiddos come in excited because we kick off every Monday with a new transformation. I call them “Monday Fundays,” and it’s become a tradition they look forward to—an engaging, hands-on way to review essential skills without the Monday blues. Each classroom transformation gives us focused practice, built-in motivation, and a fresh burst of energy to start the week strong.
