WHAT’S INCLUDED?

✅ 10 ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION WORD PROBLEM WORKSHEETS

Students practice addition and subtraction word problems in a variety of ways including writing equations, choosing different operations, choosing the correct symbol, finding the picture that matches the word problem, coloring worksheets, and more.

✅CUT AND GLUE ACTIVITY

Students are given a printable page with pumpkin word problems on it. Students cut out each pumpkin answer and glue it where it belongs.

✅ CAMPING MATCHING GAME

Students will match up each camping kid with the correct tent. There is an addition or subtraction word problem on each camping mile marker and an answer on each kid. A recording sheet and answer key are included for easy checking.

✅EMOJI MATH SORT

This is a sorting activity where students put a smile or a frown emoji on top of each task card. If the answer is correct, a happy smile is put on top of it. If the wrong answer was given, the students put a frown on top of the task card.

✅GAME #1: LINE THEM UP

This game is called “Line Them Up!”. In the game, students race to see which team can line their cards up in the correct order first. Here are the steps to play. Mix up each set of cards well. Give a set of cards to each team. Start the race. Students find the START card first. They put this down. Once the start card is found, students find the answer to the equation. They continue to “Line Them Up” until they reach the FINISH card. The first team done wins!

✅ GAME #2: BUILD A GROCERY CART

Each player gets a background to build their farm on. Playing cards and pieces go in the middle. Each time you get an answer correct, you earn a piece for your farm. Chance cards are provided to spice up gameplay. You never know who’s going to win with these included! The first person to finish getting 10 items on their farm wins! All task cards focus on adding 3 numbers.

✅ GAME #3: WHOLE CLASS ACTIVITY

I call this game “Bucket Filler!”. Set up the task cards all around the room for students. Print enough of each task card for every student. Give each student a recording sheet. Let students wander the room and solve each task card. When they solve a card, they bring it to the teacher to be checked. If it’s correct, they get to drop the task card in a bucket. At the end of game play, the teacher draws names out of the bucket. Those students earn a small prize as a reward (an eraser, a pencil, etc).

✅ GAME #4: TRAFFIC RACE

Students try to be the first one to get across town You lay out the “places around town” cards in a straight line and put each player’s car on “start.” Students solve each word problem and draw a traffic card. If it’s green, they get to go forward two space. If it’s red, they do not move forward. If it’s yellow, they go forward only one space. The goal is to get to the finish line before anyone else. Chance cards are included to spice up gameplay!

✅ GAME #5: ANIMAL GAMEBOARD

Students solve each animal-themed task card that includes an addition or subtraction word problem. Then, they roll the dice and move through the gameboard based on what they roll.

✅ GAME #6: LET’S PLAY FOOTBALL

Students solve football-themed task cards and get to actually play football on the gameboard! Place a football in the middle of your field. Move the football forward or backward depending on if the question is answered correctly. When the football reaches the end zone, you earn a point for your team! The goal is to get the most points by the end of game play.
