There are 4 polygon hierarchy games to help students practice their math skills – in a fun way! They align with 5.G.4. These 5th grade spiral review math activities are great for additional practice or could even serve as quick 5th grade math assessments during the beginning of a 5th grade geometry unit. They’re made to be flexible so you can use them how YOU want to!

WHAT’S INCLUDED? (PRINT AND DIGITAL)

  • Activity: 1: Choose the Answer

Choose the correct answer that belongs in each polygon hierarchy.

  • Activity 2: Write It

Fill in the hierarchy by writing the words where they belong. Use the words at the bottom.

  • Activity 3: Find the Mistake

Put a circle on the shape that is incorrect.

  • Activity 4: Multiple Choice

Choose the correct answer that fits inside each hierarchy of shapes.

HOW TO IMPLEMENT:

There are 11 problems included in each of the 4 games (total of 44 questions).

  • Digitally: The first problem is always an example for students so they know what to do. I would recommend completing 5 questions during your lesson together and assigning the other 5 for students to complete independently. Or, assign all 10 after going over the first example slide together. They are provided in Google Slides so you can assign them in Google Classroom.
  • Print: Print the task cards out and put them in a math center. Have students record answers on the recording sheet provided. Students can use the self-checking answer key to check their work. You can choose between the color and black and white option.
