What’s Included in This 4th Grade Math Unit

This resource covers all key factor and multiple concepts while keeping learning interactive and fun.

Mini-Lesson:
A ready-to-use interactive notebook page introduces students to factors, multiples, and prime vs. composite numbers. Students glue it into their notebooks to reference throughout the year and use it to review before assessments.

Worksheets (10 total):
Students practice:

  • Finding factor pairs for numbers 1–100

  • Determining multiples of given numbers

  • Identifying numbers that are not factors or multiples

  • Sorting numbers as prime or composite

  • Solving factor and multiple word problems

Each worksheet provides targeted practice and differentiation options for every learner.

Emoji Math Sort:
Students check each statement to decide if it’s correct. A smiley face means it’s right — a frown means it’s wrong! This interactive format makes practicing multiples engaging and memorable.

Cut and Glue Dice Game:
Students roll two dice, form a 2-digit number, and list all its factors. The number rolled becomes their score for the round! The student with the highest total at the end wins — a perfect partner or small group activity for center time.

Ice Cream Sort:
Students sort ice cream scoops onto the correct cones by matching numbers to their factors. For example, the “Factors of 12” cone receives scoops labeled 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12. This collaborative, visual activity reinforces factor relationships in a fun way.

Four Corners Game:
Transform a classic classroom game into a math challenge! Label each corner of the room with “Multiples of 3,” “Multiples of 4,” etc. Then call out numbers — students move to the corner that represents a true multiple. Mixed-difficulty cards ensure every student is challenged.

Game #1: Build an Ocean Scene

Students earn ocean-themed items by correctly identifying multiples. Chance cards keep gameplay lively, and the first to complete their under-the-sea scene wins! Perfect for partners or small groups.

Game #2: Build a Town

Students build a town piece by piece as they correctly answer questions about prime and composite numbers. The first student to complete their town picture wins!

Game #3: Whole-Class Game – Bucket Filler!

Set up task cards around the classroom and let students roam to solve them. Each correct answer earns a “bucket drop,” and winners are drawn at the end. Task cards focus on writing factors for given numbers.

Game #4: Racing Game – Line Them Up!

Students compete to arrange cards showing factor relationships in the correct order. The team to correctly complete their set first wins! Great for cooperative play and reinforcing factor fluency.

All games are included in color and black-and-white versions for easy printing and reuse year after year.
